Last week I went on a temple trip with my ward. I was a little hesitant to go because I don't know the ysa's in my ward that well. Needless to say I had a lot of fun and got to know people better. Now I will have more to talk about with them than the small talk I did wit them before. We left early tuesday morning. There was 10 girls and 6 guys that went. We first went to the Manti Temple. What a pretty temple. I have only been there for the pageant many years ago. It was nice to visit it and go and do baptisms there. After the manti temple we left to tour Cove Fort. I had never been there or even heard of it. Its a church history site. The fort was built to provide protection to the pioneers in 1847. I learned alot and really enjoyed this tour. We were split up into groups to tour it. In my group a guy from L.A. came to join the tour with us. He wasn't LDS. He asked alot questions about our church. Ian from my ward was amazing and answered all his questions. I was impressed. Ian also gave him a Book of Mormon and his phone number in case he had more questions. After Cove Fort we drove to St. George to eat at IN and OUT. That place is overrated but still decent. We finally got to mesquite after that where we would be staying during our trip. Our ysa leaders have two houses down there. One had a pool and the other had a hot tub. After we settled at the house we went swimming and hottubing. What a great way to end the day.
On Wednesday we had a play day. We layed out by the pool and read girly magazings nad occasionally got in the pool to swim. After swimming all of us girls got ready. We had activity to go to the mesquite ysa. We thought and hoped there would be attractive guys so we got all dolled up and get. Needless to say the guys were ok looking. The girls were kinda dull and boring with no personality either. We tried to be friendly though. I think they thought we were weird with our big hair or something.
Thursday we went to the Las Vegas Temple. That was a really cool looking temple. The font was really small. Pretty sure I bumped my head in the water. Some of the girls and the guys went back after the basptimal session. We waited for the others to get out of an endowment session. It was nice to sit on the temple grounds and chat. Later that night we went out to a mexican resturant.
Friday we went to the St. George temple. I have done baptisms there before. It was cool to be there again. This is my second favorite temple out of the five I have done baptims at. I love it because the ladies there take care of you. Not as good at the bountiful temple ladies. I guess the bountiful temple has won my heart. Then we went to the Jacob Hamblin and Brigham Young's winter home. This was ok. I was really tired and did not pay attention during the tour.
Saturday we cleaned the houses and packed up to head home. First we stopped in Zions to Hike. I haven't been there since I was a litle girl. I don't even remember it.
My trip was amazing. I am glad I got to know the girls a little more and become a little closer with them. Each night before bed we all sat and talked. I think that helped alot. I got to know the girls on a whole different level. I saw other sides of them that I don't see at church.
I am going to have to post pictures soon.
